7-Eleven, Inc. is using the summer solstice as a foodservice hook, pushing limited-time deals on roller grill staples, crispy chicken wings and dispensed beverages at participating 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes locations starting around June 21. The Irving, Texas-based operator — which runs one of the largest c-store networks in North America across its three banners — is positioning the promotion as a daylight-driven traffic driver targeting afternoon and late-evening snack occasions.
The summer solstice push centers on hot-food categories that have become increasingly important to the chain's inside-sales mix. Roller grill remains a high-margin workhorse in c-store foodservice, and the addition of chicken wings signals continued investment in back-of-house fried items — a segment that has seen broad expansion across the channel as operators compete more directly with quick-service restaurants on value and convenience.
The deal structure spans all three banners — 7-Eleven's flagship nameplate, Speedway (acquired in 2021 for roughly $21 billion), and the Stripes banner concentrated in Texas and the Southwest. Running a synchronized promotion across that footprint gives 7-Eleven significant reach, though the company noted participation varies by location, a standard carve-out for a network that includes a large share of franchised stores.
For the broader channel, seasonal foodservice promotions have become a proven tactic for moving dispensed beverages and prepared food together in a single trip. NACS data consistently shows that foodservice — including hot food and dispensed drinks — delivers some of the strongest inside-margin percentages in the store, making solstice-timed bundles a sensible lever for basket-size growth. Loyalty program integration is increasingly where these promotions live, and 7-Eleven's 7Rewards platform gives the company a direct line to its most frequent visitors to push these offers digitally.
The company did not disclose deal pricing, redemption targets or a specific end date for the promotion beyond the solstice window.
