Award Recognizes Dual-Function Packaging Design Anchor Packaging, a Georgia-Pacific company, has received a Convenience Store News Best New Product Award for its Invertibles single-piece containers, a foodservice packaging solution designed to simplify operations and reduce inventory management complexity. Unlike traditional two-piece systems, Invertibles functions as both a dine-in serving tray and, when combined with a second unit, a secure food-to-go container. The design allows operators to reduce SKU counts, eliminate waste from mismatched base and lid inventories, and lower storage space requirements.
Operational and Economic Benefits "Innovation starts with understanding our customers' biggest challenges and finding simpler, smarter ways to solve them," said Pranay Harsh, vice president and general manager of Anchor Packaging. "Invertibles represents a completely new approach to foodservice packaging. By transforming two components into one versatile solution, we're helping operators simplify inventory management, reduce waste, improve efficiency and better serve their customers." The container features integrated stacking rails for secure stacking and is designed to address real-world operational pain points rather than incrementally improving existing designs. Key benefits include simplified single-piece operations, reduced base and lid inventory mismatches, fewer SKUs, decreased storage space needs, and greater packaging flexibility across dine-in and carryout applications. "As operators continue to look for ways to improve efficiency and profitability, we believe innovation matters most when it solves real-world challenges," said Brook Brown, vice president of Innovation at Anchor Packaging. "Invertibles demonstrates how higher-performing packaging can unlock meaningful value across the entire operation."

Why It Matters
For convenience store and foodservice operators managing tight margins, single-SKU packaging solutions that reduce inventory waste and storage footprint directly impact profitability. Invertibles addresses a tangible operational inefficiency—the mismatch between base and lid inventory—that has plagued two-piece systems for years.
