The Product

BobaVida, the Missouri-based maker behind what it markets as America's #1 Popping Pearl, is entering the ready-to-drink set with ORBA, a popping boba beverage in a 12 fl oz resealable stand-up pouch. Pre-order shipments to retail, distributor, and foodservice accounts begin November 1, 2026, with four launch SKUs built on either a real tea or coconut water base and sweetened with natural sugars and monk fruit — no corn syrup, no sugar alcohols, no artificial sweeteners.

The four launch flavors are Raspberry Dragon Fruit Black Tea, Strawberry Lemonade Green Tea, Mango Passion Fruit Green Tea, and Lime in the Coconut Water Refresher. The tea-base pouches clock in at 45 calories with 5g prebiotic fiber; the coconut water base runs 70 calories with the same fiber count. Shelf life is 14 months. Cases pack six four-packs (48 fl oz per four-pack), with a suggested retail of $11.99 per four-pack. Each four-pack also includes a neon sticker sheet — a minor detail, but one aimed squarely at the Gen Z shopper driving boba's mainstream migration.

RTD Tea Context

Popping boba has moved steadily off the bubble tea shop menu and into the packaged-beverage aisle, pulled by younger shoppers who treat boba as a baseline flavor expectation rather than a novelty. Mordor Intelligence pegs the U.S. RTD tea market at $13.72 billion in 2026, with growth projected to $17.61 billion by 2031. For c-store operators, that trajectory maps to real dispensed-beverage and grab-and-go opportunity: the resealable pouch format is designed to hold up in a cooler door or on a shelf set, and the screw-cap closure is a functional differentiator in a set dominated by cans and bottles.

BobaVida's competitive claim is origin: the company manufactures the popping pearls themselves at a 44,000-square-foot facility in Mount Vernon, Missouri. "Our Missouri facility gives us the capacity, quality control, and responsiveness to support national retail growth," said Benjamin Masters, Ph.D., Managing Member of BobaVida. "We make it ourselves, we're taking pre-orders now, and pre-order shipments leave November 1." The brand already has placement in more than 5,000 retail doors through its pearl products, giving the sales team an existing retail footprint to convert for the RTD launch.

Retail Rollout

A parallel clear-can format, including a limited Ube Cotton Candy Cooler flavor, launches exclusively at Jungle Jim's International Market in early October — before the broader pouch rollout hits the channel. That format and the foodservice pre-order window suggest BobaVida is testing multiple package configurations rather than committing to a single retail vehicle.

Scott J. Van Rixel, President of Boh Bah Inc., BobaVida's parent company, framed ORBA as a direct response to retailer demand. "We've shipped millions of units to thousands of homes and businesses, and every retailer and creator kept asking the same question: when is the drink coming?" Van Rixel said. "Nobody knows the pearl like we do, and you taste it in the first sip."

For operators scouting new dispensed-beverage and packaged-drink additions for their cooler sets, ORBA's 14-month shelf life and resealable format lower the shrink risk typical of premium RTD entries. Retailers and distributors can request samples, pricing, and the sell sheet by contacting Karen Spray at k.spray@bobavida.com or 214-244-3935. The brand's foodservice and c-store channel strategy will be worth watching as November shipments begin moving through distribution.
