Clean-label brand Eat Happy Kitchen is pushing into three new retail channels simultaneously, landing its pasta sauces and filler-free spice blends in 120 Hy-Vee stores, its seed-oil-free sauces in 114 Raley's locations across Northern California and Nevada, and its high-protein Cheese Bites in HomeGoods stores nationwide — the snack line's first national brick-and-mortar presence.
The triple-channel move brings the Santa Ynez, Calif.-based company's pasta sauce distribution past 1,000 doors, with existing retail partners including Jewel-Osco, Albertsons United/Market Street, Fresh Thyme, Gelson's, Pavilions, and Central Market. Founder and CEO Anna Vocino described the momentum as a validation of the portfolio's across-the-board consumer pull. "We've been intentional about building products that deliver on taste, quality and clean ingredients," Vocino said, "and the addition of HomeGoods, Hy-Vee, and Raley's gives us an opportunity to introduce those products to significantly more consumers across the country."
The Portfolio
Eat Happy Kitchen operates a 12-SKU lineup spanning five pasta sauces, four spice blends, and three Cheese Bites varieties. The pasta sauces carry a Seed Oil Free Certified designation and contain no added sugar or gluten — attributes that align with the better-for-you positioning now driving growth across packaged food and snack categories. The spice blends, sold in vintage-style tins, are also gluten-free and filler-free. Cheese Bites, introduced in 2025, are made from real cheese and proprietary seasoning, delivering 10–11 grams of protein per serving with no fillers, no artificial ingredients, and no sugar.
At Hy-Vee, both the sauces and spice blends are slotted into the retailer's health food section — a placement that gives the brand a natural adjacency to like-minded clean-label and functional-food SKUs. Raley's is carrying the sauce line across all of its Northern California and Nevada stores. The HomeGoods rollout is the most strategically distinct placement of the three: it puts the Cheese Bites in front of a home-goods shopper who may have no prior exposure to the brand, extending reach well beyond the conventional grocery aisle.
Distribution Trajectory
The expansion illustrates a broader trend in better-for-you branded food: brands with strong direct-to-consumer or specialty-retail roots using a clean-label halo to secure mainstream and off-channel placements in the same growth cycle. For the convenience and foodservice channel, the Cheese Bites format — high-protein, grab-and-go, two-ingredient simplicity — mirrors the snack attributes that c-store operators have been building into grab-and-go sets as shoppers seek functional alternatives to traditional impulse items.
Vocino, a three-time bestselling cookbook author whose Eat Happy series built the community around the brand, has positioned the company around a no-compromise sourcing philosophy: no added sugar, no seed oils, no fillers, always gluten-free. That platform now spans retail formats from regional health-grocery to national off-price home furnishings, a distribution mix that few food brands at this stage manage to execute across product categories simultaneously.
