After selling out across its system last year, Firehouse Subs is returning its Thanksgiving Turkey Sub to participating restaurants nationwide, available now through the end of December while supplies last. The RBI-owned chain is also debuting a new Pecan Bar, baked fresh in-restaurant daily, as part of a broader holiday LTO push.
The Sandwich
The Thanksgiving Turkey Sub loads carved turkey breast, warm stuffing, cranberry sauce and mayo onto a toasted white or wheat sub roll. Guests can add a side of the brand's signature turkey gravy — described as garlic-forward with roasted turkey and vegetable stock notes — as an upgrade. The Dr Pepper tie-in rounds out the suggested meal pairing at the counter.
The Pecan Bar, new for 2026, is positioned as the dessert complement: toasted pecans, caramel flavor, baked on-site daily. In-restaurant baked goods remain a differentiator for sandwich chains competing against convenience-channel foodservice, where grab-and-go pastry sets the baseline but fresh-baked daypart traffic is increasingly contested.
Context for C-Store Operators
Limited-time offers built around holiday flavor profiles have become a reliable traffic driver across foodservice segments heading into Q4. For convenience retailers with proprietary foodservice programs — particularly those running roller grill, hot-case, or made-to-order sandwich programs — the Firehouse seasonal play is worth tracking as a benchmark for how QSR chains are framing the Thanksgiving window as a two-month opportunity rather than a single-week event.
Firehouse Subs operates as a subsidiary of Restaurant Brands International, which reported nearly $47 billion in annual system-wide sales and operates more than 33,000 restaurants across 120-plus countries as of year-end 2025. The scale of RBI's promotional infrastructure — across Tim Hortons, Burger King, Popeyes and Firehouse Subs — gives the chain national media weight that independent c-store foodservice programs rarely match, making the LTO a direct competitive signal for operators building dispensed-beverage and hot-food daypart business.
Chief Marketing Officer Carolina Berti noted the sell-out performance was the deciding factor in the return: "It delivers everything people love about Thanksgiving in true Firehouse Subs fashion: hearty, craveable and packed into one hot sub. This year, we're giving fans even more time to enjoy it throughout the holiday season."
A portion of every purchase benefits the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, which has awarded more than $118 million in lifesaving equipment and resources to first responders and public safety organizations across North America to date — a cause-marketing element that resonates with the brand's core audience and distinguishes it in a crowded sandwich segment.
