FORALL Nutrition is rolling its flavorless protein platform into more than 500 Sprouts Farmers Market locations this month, marking the Atlanta-based brand's first major national retail launch with two complementary SKUs priced at opposite ends of the spectrum.
The lineup pairs WATER+PROTEIN — a 16.9-ounce, shelf-stable Tetra Pak bottle delivering 10 grams of protein and 40 calories at $3.99 MSRP — with FORALL PROTEIN, a one-ingredient European grass-fed whey protein isolate powder at $69.99 MSRP that yields 25 grams of protein per serving. Both products carry the brand's "Deliciously Flavorless" positioning: no sweeteners, no flavoring agents, no additives beyond the protein source and water minerals.
The Product Logic
The protein-water segment has grown crowded with fruit-flavored and sweetened formats, but FORALL Nutrition is betting there is a consumer segment fatigued by that approach. WATER+PROTEIN uses ultra-filtered water, minerals typically found in water, and European grass-fed whey protein isolate — nothing else. The powder takes the same single-ingredient philosophy to foodservice-adjacent use cases: stirred into coffee, folded into oatmeal, blended into smoothies or incorporated into sauces and baked goods.
Founder Johnny Heffernan traces the concept to a personal health event that pushed him to scrutinize ingredient lists. "After a health diagnosis, I started paying much closer attention to what I was putting into my body and became determined to eliminate unnecessary additives," Heffernan said. "That pursuit led us somewhere we didn't initially expect. We started with additive-free, but what we ultimately discovered was even more valuable to the consumer: flavorlessness." Consumer feedback on the water product then drove demand for the powder format, he added.
Why Sprouts, Why Now
Sprouts' positioning as a specialty-natural channel fits the brand's label-reading target shopper. The chain's "forager" merchant model — built around sourcing differentiated, better-for-you items — made it a logical exclusive debut partner. Kim Coffin, Chief Forager at Sprouts Farmers Market, called the launch an example of "reimagining established categories in ways that resonate with today's health-conscious consumers" and cited the products' simplicity and versatility as key factors in the chain's decision to take the exclusive.
For c-store operators tracking adjacent wellness trends, the Sprouts placement signals where better-for-you hydration and functional protein are heading in specialty retail. Dispensed-beverage and packaged-beverage sets at convenience stores have absorbed RTD protein shakes and enhanced waters for years; clean-label, additive-free formats are the logical next frontier as protein-forward foodservice and beverage programs push further into the channel. The shelf-stable Tetra Pak format of WATER+PROTEIN is also worth noting for operators evaluating grab-and-go cooler resets and ambient protein options — a segment that typically commands margin above standard enhanced water.
FORALL's national footprint at Sprouts gives it immediate scale across 25 states, establishing distribution breadth that brands entering the functional beverage and supplement categories through specialty retail often take years to achieve.
