The Launch
Jordan's Skinny Mixes is rolling out four single-serve Protein STIX SKUs — two Protein Refresher STIX designed to mix with water and two Protein Creamer STIX for hot or iced coffee — each delivering 10 grams of whey protein, 60 calories, and no more than one gram of sugar per stick. The products hit retail on Oct. 2 and retail for $19.99 for a six-count pack, or roughly $3.33 per serving.
The STIX format is squarely aimed at the grab-and-go functional beverage segment, where c-store operators have watched dispensed beverage and packaged drink sales increasingly tilt toward protein-fortified and better-for-you options. Single-serve sticks require no refrigeration, carry well in a work bag or car console, and mix in-store with fountain water or a cup of bean-to-cup coffee — a profile that fits both the forecourt-to-counter shopper and the back-of-house self-serve coffee station.
Product Details
Protein Refresher STIX come in Cherry Limeade and Peach Green Tea. Each stick mixes with 12–16 ounces of water and provides 10 grams of whey protein, 470 milligrams of electrolytes, zero sugar, and 60 calories. Cherry Limeade is caffeine-free; Peach Green Tea contributes 50 milligrams of caffeine from green tea. Both are naturally sweetened, colored, and flavored with real fruit. Protein Creamer STIX are available in Sweet Cream and Cookie Butter, sized for 8–12 ounces of coffee, with 10 grams of whey protein, one gram of sugar, and 60 calories per stick.
The new items join Refresher STIX and Protein Coffee STIX, which the brand launched in April, giving the portable STIX portfolio distinct use cases across morning coffee routines and midday hydration occasions — two of the highest-frequency dayparts in the convenience channel.
Channel Relevance
Protein is one of the fastest-growing functional callouts in packaged beverages, and c-store buyers have been adding SKUs aggressively to capitalize on the trend. Single-serve formats perform well on the functional-beverage and energy set, where impulse purchase rates run high and shoppers are accustomed to $3–$4 price points for a boost-oriented drink. At $3.33 per serving, Protein STIX slot neatly into that range and can complement ready-to-drink protein shakes already stocked in the cooler.
"People want ways to add protein to their day that are enjoyable and easy to fit into routines they already have," said Dana Paris, Chief Commercial Officer of Jordan's Skinny Mixes. The format also aligns with the broader better-for-you snack and beverage movement that has been pulling shoppers further into the store and lifting inside-sales comps at chains focused on destination foodservice programs.
The brand is available across mass and grocery retailers, Amazon, and direct-to-consumer via SkinnyMixes.com, though single-serve stick packs present a natural c-store fixture play given their ambient shelf life and low footprint.
