NO CAP! Soda Pop has claimed the No. 1 modern soda ranking by both dollar sales and units sold at a national convenience retailer with more than 2,000 stores, according to the latest 12 weeks of SPINS data. The brand achieved the milestone less than six months after entering the chain and now ranks No. 8 among all carbonated soft drink brands at the retailer. The accomplishment places NO CAP! ahead of competitors including Poppi and Olipop, a significant marker for a brand that launched in August 2024. "To become the No. 1 modern soda with this retail partner less than six months after hitting shelves is a huge moment for us," said Vinny Wilson, co-founder of NO CAP! Soda Pop. "We entered this category competing against brands with significantly more capital, distribution and years in the market. Seeing consumers choose NO CAP! in both dollar sales and units at this scale shows us we're building something with real staying power."
Product Positioning NO CAP! positions itself between traditional soda and the modern soda category with zero-sugar, zero-calorie, and zero-caffeine formulations that include electrolytes. The brand combines nostalgic flavors with functional ingredients.
Expansion Plans The brand has expanded its retail footprint while launching licensed collaborations with ICEE, Sour Punch, and Albanese Gummies. NO CAP! will showcase its latest collaborations at the 2026 NACS Show, October 7–9 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, in Booth N1171. The brand is also working with its convenience retail partner on a potential 2027 expansion featuring exclusive new SKUs across the retailer's network.
Why It Matters
For convenience retailers and foodservice operators, NO CAP!'s rapid ascent to No. 1 modern soda status signals strong consumer demand for zero-sugar, electrolyte-enhanced beverages in the impulse channel. The brand's licensed collaborations and planned SKU expansions suggest a blueprint for capturing market share in an increasingly competitive soda category.
