Premium Cold Brew Enters Convenience Channel Paramount Coffee, the 91-year-old roaster supplying over 450 BIGGBY Coffee locations and other retail partners, is entering the canned cold brew market with One Good Can of Coffee, debuting this week at the 2026 NACS Show in Las Vegas. The 11-ounce ready-to-drink cold brew comes in three varieties: OBIIS Original Cold Brew, Mocha Cold Brew, and Caramel Cold Brew. It's made from 100% Arabica coffee and certified by OBIIS (One Big Island In Space), a farm-direct sourcing verification program. Paramount will showcase the product in the Cool New Products Preview Room and at booth #C4617.
Direct-Trade Model Reshapes Supply Chain Paramount works directly with coffee producers worldwide through OBIIS, visiting farms to evaluate labor, environmental, and community practices. This approach shortens traditional supply chains and increases producer benefit. "One Good Can of Coffee is about more than what's inside the can—it's about where the coffee comes from and the people behind it," said Rich Schaafsma, President of Paramount Coffee. "Through our partnership with OBIIS, we're building direct relationships with coffee producers around the globe. We believe great coffee should taste good, do good and create lasting value for the people and communities that make it possible."
Market Timing Targets Sustainability Demand The launch aligns with consumer research showing 85% of U.S. consumers are more likely to buy products from brands engaging in sustainable practices, according to data from the NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business and Circana. Sustainability-marketed CPG products have accounted for nearly 45% of U.S. CPG market growth over the past 13 years. The canned format eliminates equipment, labor, and operational complexity for convenience store operators seeking to offer premium cold brew options. One Good Can of Coffee will be available at ParamountCoffee.com beginning in late October, following the company's earlier 2026 launch of Joe Knows Coffee Cold Brew.
Why It Matters
For convenience retailers, canned cold brew represents a high-margin category with minimal operational lift. Paramount's farm-direct certification and transparent sourcing narrative provide differentiation in a crowded segment—useful positioning as consumer expectations around supply-chain transparency continue to shape purchase decisions.
