The LTO Lineup

Taco Bell is rolling a three-item Tajín limited-time menu across its nearly 10,000 domestic units starting August 13, marking the most expansive national QSR collaboration the chile lime seasoning brand has executed. The Tajín Taco ($2.99), Tajín Cheesy Gordita Crunch ($5.99) and Tajín Pineapple Strawberry Freeze (16 oz. for $3.99; 20 oz. for $4.19) all feature Tajín Clásico Seasoning — a blend of natural chiles, lime and sea salt — layered into existing menu architecture rather than built as standalone platforms.

The Tajín Taco pairs a Tajín-seasoned crunchy shell with seasoned beef, Spicy Ranch sauce, shredded cheese, lettuce and mango salsa, and comes with a Tajín Clásico packet. The Tajín Cheesy Gordita Crunch wraps that same seasoned shell in a warm flatbread layered with mozzarella, pepperjack and cheddar, carrying the same filling combination. The frozen beverage blends pineapple flavor, strawberry-flavored syrup and Tajín — a format that fits squarely into the dispensed beverage innovation operators have leaned on to drive incremental check average at QSR and c-store dispensed programs alike.

Operator Takeaway

For c-store foodservice operators watching QSR flavor trends, the Tajín collaboration is a useful signal. Tajín has migrated steadily from ethnic-aisle impulse buy to mainstream condiment, appearing on fruit cups, snack programs and roller grill accompaniments at chains including Wawa and Sheetz. Taco Bell's decision to season the shell itself — rather than simply offering a packet on the side — reflects how operators can embed a trending ingredient into core SKUs to drive trial without adding back-of-house complexity. The mango salsa component also echoes the broader tropical-flavor arc that has gained traction in c-store foodservice programs over the past two years.

Luis Restrepo, Chief Marketing Officer, North America at Taco Bell, framed the partnership as a fan-demand play: "This collaboration is an opportunity to bring our brands' worlds together in a way that's exciting, unexpected and rooted in what fans already love." Haydeé Fernández, Director of Alliances at Tajín International, noted that the seasoning has become "a cultural phenomenon that has inspired millions of people to explore flavor in new ways."

Loyalty and Merch Mechanics

The launch also activates Taco Bell's Rewards loyalty program with a limited-edition collectible drop. On August 18 at 2 p.m. PT, 400 Taco Bell x Tajín bag charm sets — each valued at $77 and including a hand-beaded mini Tajín bottle holder, a mini Taco Bell sauce-packet bag and a Peso Pluma heart charm — will be available exclusively through Tuesday Drops in the Taco Bell app for Rewards members. The sweepstakes mechanic (no purchase necessary) is a proven loyalty-engagement tool that QSR operators use to drive app downloads and session frequency, a model c-store loyalty programs have increasingly adopted to compete for the same daypart traffic.

Peso Pluma, who has 45 million monthly Spotify listeners and joined Taco Bell's fan community at the brand's Live Más LIVE event earlier this year, serves as the celebrity face of the campaign. The collaboration had been previewed at Live Más LIVE in 2024, with subsequent test-market results generating enough consumer demand to justify the national rollout.
