Via Carota Craft Cocktails is adding a Sparkling Cosmopolitan to its ready-to-drink lineup, bringing the brand's sparkling collection to five SKUs and targeting the growing c-store and off-premise channel demand for premium, sessionable RTD cocktails.
The Sparkling Cosmo is built on triple-distilled vodka with tart cranberry, fresh lime and orange zest, finished with sparkling wine. It checks in at 11% ABV and comes in single-serve 200mL bottles — a format well-suited to the grab-and-go forecourt cooler set. Retail four-packs carry a suggested price of $23.99; a 10-pack is available direct-to-consumer online at $69.
Why the Format Works
The 200mL single-serve size has become a reliable unit-driver in the RTD spirits and cocktail category, where convenience operators are allocating more cooler doors to premium pours. For c-store buyers, the compact bottle fits existing wine-and-spirits planograms without a reset, and the $5-to-$6 per-unit retail zone sits comfortably in the impulse purchase range that drives high-margin attach sales at the register.
The Cosmopolitan format itself carries category tailwinds. Consumer interest in the drink — dormant for much of the 2010s — has surged on social platforms, with nostalgia and an appetite for lighter, fruit-forward cocktails driving renewed velocity across off-premise channels. Via Carota points to its French 75 SKU as a proof point: the product generated 6 million organic views on TikTok before the brand had run a single paid campaign behind it, triggering a wave of retailer restocking requests. Ryan Giunta, President of Via Carota Craft Cocktails, said the social performance confirmed what the brand had been tracking internally. "Our sparkling collection continues to see tremendous growth as consumers seek premium cocktails that bring together exceptional quality and ease," he said.
Retail Footprint
The Sparkling Cosmo is rolling out at Total Wine, select Trader Joe's locations, ABC Fine Wine & Spirits and Stew Leonard's, among other accounts. That footprint skews toward wine-and-spirits specialty and grocery for now, but the brand's single-serve format and impulse-friendly price point make it a natural candidate for convenience-channel spirits sets as the RTD cocktail segment continues to encroach on beer's share of the c-store cooler.
The new SKU joins a sparkling lineup that already includes the French 75, Spritz, Paloma and Sparkling Negroni, alongside still pours such as the Espresso Martini, Classic Negroni, White Negroni, Old Fashioned, Classic Margarita, Signature Martini and Signature Manhattan. Rita Sodi, chef and co-founder of Via Carota Craft Cocktails, said the decision to add sparkling wine to the classic recipe was straightforward: "We thought bubbles would make it even better. It still tastes like the Cosmo you love."
For operators evaluating the RTD cocktail set, the Sparkling Cosmo's established brand identity and viral-driven consumer pull reduce the velocity risk that typically accompanies a new spirits SKU — a meaningful consideration when allocating limited cooler real estate.
