Burger King is converting guest-feedback calls and texts into two operational programs: a redesigned in-restaurant manager role called the Your Way Champion and a Whopper Guarantee that delivers a free sandwich to any customer whose order misses the mark.

The initiatives land roughly four months after the chain handed out the personal phone number of Tom Curtis, President of Burger King US&C, as part of a broad listening initiative. Thousands of contacts later, the brand says two themes dominated the feedback — customers wanted someone clearly accountable on the floor, and they wanted the chain's flagship sandwich served hot and as ordered, every time.

The Your Way Champion Role

The Your Way Champion is a reimagined restaurant manager position, not a new headcount layer. Champions wear a distinct uniform to stay visible on the floor, own order accuracy and customization, and serve as the go-to point of contact when something needs to be fixed. Burger King is pairing the role launch with investment in Team Member training and additional restaurant resources. For convenience operators who run foodservice programs inside the forecourt, the concept tracks with the growing industry push toward accountability-by-name-and-face in high-traffic, limited-service environments — a dynamic increasingly relevant as QSR anchor tenants inside travel centers and c-store-adjacent fuel sites compete on execution as much as menu.

The Whopper Guarantee Mechanics

The Whopper Guarantee works on a two-step redemption: if a guest's sandwich doesn't meet expectations, the restaurant will remake it on the spot, and the customer can scan a QR code inside the Whopper box to receive a six-digit code for one free classic Whopper on a future in-restaurant visit. The offer is valid at participating U.S. locations through Aug. 31, 2026, and excludes the Impossible Whopper and Whopper Jr. Codes are issued the day after the request and are valid for 14 days.

"When we asked Guests where we could do better, they gave us a lot of honest feedback, and now it's our responsibility to act on it," Curtis said. "We're raising the standard in our restaurants, so every Guest feels like they made the right choice."

Broader Brand Context

The two programs sit inside a longer transformation arc that already includes a reformulated Whopper and a national advertising campaign repositioning guests as the central character. Burger King's system spans more than 19,000 locations in more than 120 countries and U.S. territories, nearly all operated by independent franchisees. At that scale, standardizing a role like Your Way Champion across the franchisee base is the operational heavy lift — training consistency and franchisee buy-in will determine whether the concept moves the needle on satisfaction scores. The brand signaled additional menu news is slated for later this summer, suggesting the feedback loop will keep producing changes through the back half of 2026.
