The Return
Chipotle Mexican Grill is bringing back its Smoked Brisket to more than 4,200 restaurants across the U.S. and Canada beginning November 5, reviving a limited-time protein that has sold out ahead of schedule in prior runs. The chain is pairing the re-launch with a $0 delivery-fee window — November 5 through November 18 — on orders placed through the Chipotle app, Chipotle.com and Chipotle.ca, timed to peak football-season traffic.
The promotion is a direct play for group-occasion and watch-party orders, a daypart where off-premises foodservice volumes have grown steadily as consumers replicate restaurant-quality proteins at home. Waiving delivery fees on a premium, limited-time item is a proven lever for digital-channel trial: it surfaces the SKU in app browse sessions and drives loyalty-member engagement without discounting the underlying menu price.
Supply & Sourcing
On the supply side, Chipotle estimates that only about 5% of U.S. beef meets its Responsibly Raised® specifications — cattle on a strictly vegetarian diet, raised without added growth hormones or routine antibiotics, with ranch-level traceability. That constraint keeps the item scarce by design and gives the chain a credible quality narrative that distinguishes it from broad commodity beef users across the foodservice channel.
Back-of-house execution is labor-intensive by fast-casual standards. The brisket arrives pre-smoked over mesquite wood and seasoned with smoked serrano and chipotle chili peppers. Restaurant team members then sear it on the plancha, finish it with additional spices, toss it in a smoky chili-pepper sauce and hand-chop it in small batches throughout service. Nevielle Panthaky, Senior Vice President of Culinary, described the protocol as anchored in "a low-and-slow smoking process" that gives the brisket its "bold, beefy, smoky character," with the plancha sear and sauce adding a "tender bite with a little kick."
Marketing Push
Chipotle is backing the launch with creator-driven content that extends its 100 Creators campaign, which debuted in August. Food creators Max Greb (Max the Meat Guy) and Newton Nguyen (Newt), along with reality personality Carl Schmidt, were brought into Chipotle kitchens to document brisket prep firsthand, with footage developed through agency partner KIDS. The approach trades polished brand production for credibility-signal content — a format that has proven effective at reaching younger digital-first consumers who influence group ordering decisions.
For operators and foodservice observers tracking limited-time offer strategy, Chipotle's brisket cadence is instructive: controlled scarcity (the protein regularly exits before anticipated), a premium sourcing story, and a digital-exclusive delivery incentive all combine to generate earned media well beyond the paid campaign spend. The chain carries nearly 140,000 employees across its fully company-owned footprint in the U.S., Canada and Europe — no franchisee alignment required to execute a synchronized national LTO rollout.
