Bob Hughes has been promoted to senior vice president of supplier relations, expositions and meetings at NACS, the trade association representing convenience and fuel retailers. Hughes joined NACS nearly 25 years ago as a director of expositions and has overseen expansion of the organization's supplier engagement and events portfolio. Under his leadership, the association has deepened engagement with its 1,800 supplier members, with particular focus on cultivating the Hunter Club. His team has also built out the NACS Show, which ranks among the top 50 tradeshows in the country by expo size, while managing a growing portfolio of industry meetings and events. "This promotion reflects the trust Bob's built across our industry, and the importance of our supplier partners," said NACS President & CEO Frank Gleeson. "We have an ambitious set of objectives moving forward in growing the NACS Show and overall member engagement, and I am excited about how Bob and his team will continue to elevate the NACS offer to the benefit of our industry." Hughes holds a B.A. from George Mason University and has completed executive education programs through NACS at Cornell (Executive Leadership), Wharton (Financial Leadership), MIT (Innovation Leadership), and Kellogg (Marketing Leadership). He is also a NACS Master of Convenience graduate.

Why It Matters

The promotion underscores NACS' prioritization of supplier relations at a time when the association manages engagement with nearly 1,800 supplier companies serving a U.S. convenience store sector of 152,000 locations generating $818 billion in annual sales.
