Southeast Convenience Chain Enters Florida Market Parker's Kitchen, a 50-year-old convenience store operator with 111 locations across Georgia and South Carolina, is opening its first Florida store in Yulee in late October, targeting the Jacksonville market. The company also recently debuted locations in North Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Lexington, S.C. The Yulee store, located at 75970 William Burgess Blvd. near the I-95 and Highway 200 intersection, marks the beginning of an ambitious Florida expansion. The company plans to have six additional sites under construction by the first quarter of 2027, with a goal of opening 12 new Florida stores—including one truck stop—before the end of 2027. "Entering Florida represents an important step in Parker's Kitchen's long-term growth strategy," said CEO John Rudolfs. "As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we're continuing to build on a strong foundation by expanding into markets where we see meaningful opportunities for growth. North Florida is a natural extension of our footprint, and we look forward to introducing Parker's Kitchen to a new group of customers while delivering the quality, service and value that have driven our success for five decades."
South Carolina Expansion Accelerates The North Myrtle Beach location opened in early July at 4530 Highway 17 S., representing the chain's entry into that market. Parker's Kitchen operates two additional stores in nearby Little River and plans further expansion along the Grand Strand area. The Lexington store, opened in early September at 1367 N. Lake Drive, is the company's first location in the metro Columbia market. It serves customers near Lake Murray State Park and surrounding west Columbia areas, with plans for additional stores in the Columbia market.
Fresh Food Focus All three new stores feature Parker's Kitchen's Southern-inspired menu prepared fresh on-site daily, including breakfast biscuits, the Spicy Chicken Sandwich, and hand-breaded, never-frozen, antibiotic-free chicken tenders. Each location includes indoor dining, electronic ordering kiosks, hot bars for all dayparts, and grab-and-go options. The new stores also showcase signature Lowcountry-inspired architecture, gas-lit lanterns, high-end fixtures, designer lighting, and state-of-the-art restrooms. Fuel, dispensed beverages, Chewy Ice, and convenience items round out the offering.
Growth Trajectory Parker's Kitchen made the Inc. 5000 list of America's fastest-growing companies for the ninth consecutive time in August. The company employs nearly 2,000 people across its existing footprint and processes more than 1.2 million transactions weekly. "We're thrilled to accelerate our robust growth plans by opening new stores in exciting new markets and meeting the needs of customers across the Southeast," said founder and Executive Chairman Greg Parker. "We're committed to elevating what customers can expect from a convenience store and to being a great partner in the communities we serve." Founded in Midway, Ga., in 1976, Parker's Kitchen has been named Convenience Store Chain of the Year by Convenience Store Decisions and twice honored as a Top Workplace by USA TODAY. The company has donated more than $30 million to charitable causes. Its Parker's Rewards loyalty program has 650,000 members and has generated more than $30 million in customer savings.
Why It Matters
Parker's Kitchen's Florida expansion signals aggressive regional growth in a competitive convenience store market. The focus on fresh, made-to-order food and elevated store design reflects a broader industry shift toward differentiating convenience chains beyond fuel and grab-and-go items. The chain's record store opening pace in 2027 will test its operational capacity and supply chain in new geographies.
