The New SKU

Smoothie King is rolling out its broadest pumpkin lineup to date for fall 2026, headlined by the Slim-N-Trim® GLP-1 Pumpkin Smoothie — the brand's first seasonal offering engineered specifically for guests on GLP-1 medications. The limited-time smoothie delivers 23 grams or more of protein, 9 grams of fiber, and zero grams of added sugar, built around 100% organic pumpkin puree and the chain's pumpkin spice blend. It is available now at participating locations across the 1,200-unit system and through the Smoothie King app.

The new item joins a GLP-1 Support Menu that Smoothie King debuted in 2024, which the brand claims was the first such menu from a national QSR concept. The strategic rationale is straightforward: consumers on GLP-1 drugs tend to eat smaller volumes and therefore place a premium on protein density, fiber, and low added-sugar profiles — a nutritional brief that fits the smoothie format well. For c-store operators and competing foodservice programs watching the channel, the GLP-1 consumer cohort represents a growing traffic segment that is actively seeking permissible indulgence rather than premium dessert-style beverages.

The Full Pumpkin Bench

The 2026 pumpkin lineup spans six SKUs targeting different need states: the Slim-N-Trim® GLP-1 Pumpkin (23g+ protein, 0g added sugar); Power Meal® Pumpkin (20g+ protein, meal-replacement positioning); Coffee High Protein Pumpkin (31g+ protein, 83mg caffeine); Slim-N-Trim® Pumpkin (13g+ protein, 0g added sugar); D-Lite® Pumpkin (12g+ protein); and a Vegan Pumpkin (12g+ protein, plant-based, vitamin C source). The breadth signals a deliberate effort to capture multiple dayparts and dietary profiles rather than a single seasonal flavor extension.

Lori Primavera, Vice President of R&D and Product Marketing at Smoothie King, framed the launch as a continuation of the brand's nutrition-first development process. "As more guests began navigating GLP-1 medications and looking for trusted nutrition guidance, we saw an opportunity to apply that expertise to meet an emerging need," she said.

Loyalty Play

Smootie King is pairing the launch with a loyalty incentive: Healthy Rewards members who purchase any 20-oz. pumpkin smoothie through the end of September can add a toast or flatbread for $3.99 — a move that drives attach rates on the chain's Power Eats food menu, which won Nation's Restaurant News' MenuMasters Healthful Innovation award earlier this year. On August 27, participating locations will host a free sampling event for Healthy Rewards members featuring the D-Lite® Pumpkin, while supplies last.

For foodservice operators benchmarking against QSR competitors, the bundling of a dispensed-beverage seasonal with a low-cost food add-on is a tested traffic-building tactic — and one increasingly relevant to c-store foodservice programs looking to lift basket size during shoulder dayparts. Smoothie King's positioning at the intersection of functional nutrition and seasonal flavor mirrors broader trends tracked across convenience foodservice: operators that anchor LTOs to a credentialed wellness claim — rather than simply a flavor — tend to see stronger repeat purchase from loyalty members. The GLP-1 angle adds a clinical-adjacent legitimacy that differentiates the pumpkin SKU from the crowded fall-flavor field.
