The Seasonal Push

Long John Silver's launched a fall comfort-food menu update on Nov. 2, anchored by the return of its Clam Chowder and a $6 Fish Basket, with Mac and Cheese moving to the permanent lineup and two new limited-time items rounding out the refresh. The updates roll out at participating locations nationwide.

The Clam Chowder — made from the chain's original recipe — returns in small and large sizes, topped with the brand's signature Crumblies crispy bits. A new Fish and Chowder Platter bundles two pieces of hand-battered fish, Clam Strips, a small Clam Chowder, one side, two hushpuppies, and Crumblies into a single combo, giving operators a higher-ring bundled offer heading into the colder-weather daypart.

Value and Permanent Adds

The $6 Fish Basket — two pieces of hand-battered fish, one side, and two hushpuppies — closes out what the chain has framed as a year-long $6 Basket promotional calendar. At that price point, the offer competes directly with quick-service value meals that have come under pressure from broader restaurant traffic softness, giving franchisees a straightforward promotional hook for the season.

Mac and Cheese, featuring cavatappi pasta in a white cheddar cream sauce topped with Crumblies, transitions from limited-time to permanent status, available as an individual side or family-size portion. Permanent menu adds matter to c-store-adjacent foodservice operators tracking QSR category trends: consistent side offerings reduce crew training friction and can anchor combo upsell scripts. Meredith Smith, director of brand marketing at Long John Silver's, noted the Crumblies topping ties the new side back to the chain's core identity. "Add in Mac and Cheese, our $6 Fish Basket and something sweet to finish, and you've got all the makings of a pretty cozy meal," she said.

Beverages and Dessert LTOs

On the dispensed-beverage side, Long John Silver's is introducing Dirty Sodas — any 20-ounce fountain drink upgraded with a pump of sweet cream. The format has gained traction across QSR and fast-casual over the past two years as operators look for low-cost ways to lift check averages on fountain without adding equipment. For convenience retailers benchmarking foodservice programs, the dirty soda trend is worth watching as a dispensed-beverage innovation that travels well into the c-store channel.

For dessert, the chain is adding a limited-time Cinnamon Roll Cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory Bakery, combining cinnamon roll flavor with a cream cheese base. Licensed bakery dessert partnerships have become a recurring traffic driver for seafood and chicken QSR chains looking to extend trial beyond core dayparts.

Guests can access rewards and location details through the chain's Seacret Society Rewards program. Loyalty integration remains a key retention tool as seafood QSR competes for share in the broader foodservice-at-cstore segment, where operators are increasingly benchmarking QSR menu strategy against their own grab-and-go and commissary programs.
